Lan honen helburua Nafarroako Bidankoze herrian bertako euskara gorde zuen XX. mende erdialdeko azken belaunaldiari buruzko albisteak ematea da. Ezaguna da euskararen desagerpenaren kronologia zehatza Erronkari iparraldean, 1950etik aurrera ikertzaile zenbaitek hondar hiztunen mintzoa jasotzeari ekin ziolako Izaban zein Uztarrozen; baina hegoalderago dauden herrien inguruko oso datu gutxi iritsi zaizkigu. Gaur egungo adineko bidankoztarren haurtzaroko eta gaztaroko oroitzapenetan oinarrituz, duela hainbat hamarkada ezagutu ahal izan zituzten euskaldunei dagozkien xehetasun batzuk bildu dira artikuluan.

Basque speakers in Vidángoz (Navarre) during the 20th century.

This article aims to provide a series of data on the last generation of Vidángoz Basque speakers that preserved the Roncal Valley Basque dialect in the mid-twentieth century. The chronology of the loss and disappearance of the Basque language in the northern towns of the Roncal Valley is well known, because different researchers collected data from the speakers themselves during the second half of the last century, but there is hardly any reference to the most southern villages. These pages bring some news from the testimony and recollections of the current elderly inhabitants of Vidángoz, who came to know the last speakers of the Basque language decades ago.
