Artikulu honen helburua bikoitza da, linguistikoa eta antropologikoa; beraz, etnolinguistikaren esparruan kokatu behar genuke: alde batetik adierazleari erreparatuz, ortzi hitzaren balizko jatorri etimologikoari argi apur bat ematen saiatzen da; horretarako berba honek eguraldiari buruzko euskal lexikoan duen eraginaren berri emateaz gain, hizkuntza zeltikoetako hitzekiko balizko erlazioa aztertzen da. Eta bestetik, adieraziari begira, euskal mitologia eta indoeuroparra azterturik, guztiz kontrajarriak direlako ondorioa ateratzen da.

 

The objective of this article is double, linguistic and anthropological; therefore, it must be located in the scope of ethnolinguistics: on the one hand, considering the formal component ortzi we try to reveal the origin of this word. For this purpose, besides to clarify the influence of this word in the Basque atmospheric lexicon, we examine in greater detail the possible relation with the celtic languages, and, on the other hand, Basque and Indo-European mythologies are examinated and we come up with the conclusion that they are fully opposed.
