Informazio eta Komunikazio Teknologiak maila guztietako irakaskun-tza aldatzen ari dira erabat, unibertsitatean zein oinarrizko hezkuntzan, eta, noski, etengabeko prestakuntza ere ez da ahaztu behar [1]. Unibertsita-teetako, ikastoletako eta eskoletako irakasleek, ikasleek eta administrazioko langileek egunero erabiltzen dituzte Informazio eta Komunikazio Teknologiak, hezkuntza-arloan dauden langile guztiei aukera berriak eskainiz.      Informazioan eta ezagueran oinarritutako mundu berri honetan, gure gizartea hobetzeko ondo prestatutako jendea behar da. Helburu hori lortzeko, Informazio eta Komunikazio Teknologiek unibertsitateek eta enpresa pribatuek erabil ditzaketen tresna egokiak eskaintzen dituzte.     Gaur egun, merkatuan dauden irakaskuntza birtualerako tresnak asko dira. Artikulu honetan horrelako tresna batzuk aztertu eta gero, irakaskun-tzarako sistema birtualen eredu teknologikoa aurkeztu nahi da.

The quick evolution of New Technologies of Information and Communication is changing the way we understand education at all levels, from universities to primary schools and long life learning.  Faculty members, students and administrative staff are making use of them every day, and this is going to imply new opportunities for all of the people working and studying in the university. A society that wants to become economically successful and socially coherent in this new information and knowledge based world needs well-educated and well-trained people.  New Information and Communication technologies offer the right tools that universities and private companies demand to reach this goal. Nowadays there are a lot of companies offering virtual learning tools.  This paper describes a general technological architecture for virtual learning environments based on what commercial products are offering in the market.
