    The multi-cultural or multi-national nature of most states casts doubt on nation states\' ability to ascribe a collective identity and organize life in a society, and one of the problems in the origin of this disability is related to the ontological commitment of the liberal theory to the unfettered moral individual.
The epistemological proposals that work on a pluralistic perspective about the subject of knowledge and the concept of representation provide us an opportunity to describe the diversity of representations that coexist in contemporary societies, and therefore, an adequate basis to justify a rational and shared representation of the society that work as the basis of its institutional organization.
