People first language: political correctness when speaking about disability
People First Language refers to the practice of referring people with disabilities this way as to prevent the dehumanization resulting from the use of expressions such as handicapped, challenged or disabled. However this politically correct way to address disability can be contested from a queer point of view, that purports that it serves better to protect teachers and readers from their own prejudices.
